Over the last ten years of growing up, having a child, job changes, illnesses, and weight issues I lost something very important to me; my personal style.
I still love fashion, shopping, and putting outfits together but it isn't the same. This weekend I looked in my closet and I didn't see me. I saw clothes that were purchased because they were on the clearance rack, clothes that don't fit because my weight has fluctuated so much, clothes that are not the best quality, and shoes that don't go with any of those clothes. So I purged. I had sold some things in my shop my closet sale, but I didn't really go far enough. I am down to the bare minimum.
I am going to spend the next few months as I'm losing weight and getting healthy searching for inspiration and finding my personal style again. I've mastered my goal of getting dressed everyday but it's just jeans & tees, nothing special. I want my personal style back. I want to have a wardrobe with quality classic pieces that I can wear year after year with fun pieces mixed in, I want to keep it simple, and I want to do it on a budget. I'm not in a rush. I will build it piece by piece. And I am REALLY excited about it.
I know in the grand scheme of things, fashion and style are not at all important but I like it, it makes me feel good, and it's FUN. Fun is something we all could use a little more of :)
Here is some of my current inspiration...
