Hi Thrifty Pals! Thanks for your patience with the Linky Tools debacle. I'm excited to bring you some more thrift tips from Leslie of Retro Lemon!

Hi All,

This is Leslie B. from RETRO LEMON Vintage. I have a shop on ETSY for Vintage Home & Garden “finds and fabulousities”. I also sell some of my finds at the ANTIQUE TROVE Antique Mall in Scottsdale (2020 N. Scottsdale Rd. - booth #1418).

I LOVE Vintage and always on the prowl for new things- as we all are. I’ll put my 2 cents in-here are my 5 best tips for VINTAGE SHOPPING:

#1. Sign up onto ESTATE SALE websites to get weekly local alerts on the latest local estate sales happening in your area. Two that I can think of are EstateSales.Net and EstateSales.com.
Also, just get in your car and drive around neighborhoods looking for Estate Sale signs posted around town. I have found the BEST sales and Vintage finds just by happenstance.

#2. If you are of “a certain age”…take advantage of “SENIOR DAYS” at Thrift Shops. These sales are held on different days of the week per store but ALL of them have one. You don’t even have to REALLY be a “Senior” to partake…is 50-55 really a senior? Usually 25% off too!

#3. If you are planning a trip out of town and just cannot NOT shop for Vintage while you’re away, check out Yelp.com for info and blogs on the best Thrifts Shops local to your trip. Do a search on Google for “Thrift Shops” in your trip location too. It helped me SO much when I recently took a trip to San Francisco Bay area. Found tons!

#4. Sign up to your local Goodwill.com (here- goodwillaz.org) for their newsletter. Every month you should receive a  20 % off coupon to your email, good to use at Goodwill stores in yr area.
Make paper copies to use multiple times during the month (hope that’s legal!).

#5. If you are shopping at one of the local large Antique Malls in our area (or any area) immediately ask for 10% off at the register. They will usually give that to you- no problem!

That’s it for now. Thanks Liz!
Enjoy your “Junkin” adventures.
Leslie B.
