my camera bag

I didn't think I needed a camera bag. Then I cracked my lens, a $249 repair, woe is me! I was wrong. I started my hunt by looking up reviews and asking around on twitter. Hot damn, those babies are expensive! Also....not my style. I love my handbags and don't want to deal with carrying two, and don't want to be stuck with the same bag for years because I shelled out $100 + for it.

I found the best solution for on $16 on Amazon. It's a camera bag insert that protects all your gear and fits into any bag. I've been using this solution for months now and my camera is damage free. I love the versatility of being able to transfer it from bag to bag.

It fits my Nikon D3100, kit lens, 50mm lens, caps, lens cleaner, charger, cords, etc. and fits easily into my favorite bags. I just pack it up and transfer it to different bags that match my outfit for that day. The insert great for travel because you can keep it with you in your big carry on and then transfer it to your smaller handbags for going out on the town.

Here it is in my favorite everyday bag.

And it fits snug as a bug in a rug in my favorite vintage bag.

Maybe someday I'll find my camera bag soul mate and invest in a really nice one, but for now this works beautifully. I highly recommend this solution for all you budget conscious, amateur photographers and bloggers ;)

How do you haul your gear around?
